Regions in Russia now close to Slovakia

Hopes to ease the process to get visa for Slovakia in Russia seem to be more realistic.
The consulate of the Slovak Republic, headed by an honorary consul in Yekaterinburg, is announced to open in Yekaterinburg by the end of 2010. This intention was expressed by the Slovak Ambassador Joseph Migash during a meeting with first deputy head of Yekaterinburg, Alexander Petrov, says official portal of Yekaterinburg.
At a meeting held June 22 in Ekaterinburg City Hall, attended by prospective Honorary Consul of Slovakia in the capital of the Urals, Alexander Petrov, a well-known business and political person in the Urals capital as chairman of the board of directors of the holding of “Junona.” Confirming the seriousness of the Slovak diplomat, Alexander Petrov, confirmed that the leadership of Slovakia considers Ekaterinburg as a strategic point of its presence in Russia. Until now, representation of this country were only in Moscow and St. Petersburg. While the scope of the interests of Slovakia in Russia is no longer confined to its European part.
The 1st Internet-operator VSlovakii.ru is also the program which is aimed to increase collaboration between Russian (all its regions) and Slovakia. Tourism is one of the most progressive fields in the economy and “hopes are that Slovakia will become a truly beloved and welcoming destination in Europe for Russians”, – says the Head of Internet-operator VSlovakii.ru.

Hotels in Slovakia proceed losses

According to the official authoritative mass media, at the beginning of 2010 room prices, as well as average revenue per room in Slovak hotels fell by almost 17%. Most of this problem has affected the hotels in Bratislava, which are trying to cope with a significant reduction in the number of guests.

Beginning of 2009 for Slovakia was not very good. However, the results obtained during the same period this year, are much worse. According to a recent quarterly report made by Deloitte, attendance hotels from January to March was less than in 2009. Occupancy rate in the first quarter of 2010 amounted to 36.4% but in the last year the figure was 36.5%. Price per room on the annual rate fell by 16.7% to € 77.36. Opening: The Museum of the Slovak folk culture in Moscow

According to the Totalweek.ru, the first museum of the Slovak folk culture in the capital of Russia will open its doors on May 3 at the south-east of Moscow in the framework of the celebration of the day the streets of Bratislava, – told the prefect SEAD Vladimir Zotov.

According to the prefect, the museum will be located in the Moscow school number 1934 after the name of the Russian-Slovak friendship in the region Marino. In the museum there will be the full history of present-day Slovakia, from ancient times to the present day, folk customs and culture of the Slovak nation. Here you can explore the biographies of people and the chronology of events that left their mark in the history of this country.

Moscow – Bratislava: flights are cancelled

From May 12 Aeroflot suspends flights on the route Moscow – Bratislava – Moscow. The news was reported by official sources of RATA-NEWs: “The decision was made in order to avoid competition with its own flights to Vienna, located only 65 km from Bratislava, as well as Austria and Slovakia are in the Schengen zone, and there are no border formalities between these countries. “
